  3. Hi Samira,

When was it made? Where was it made?
–October 14, 2012 … in my studio, Philomath, Oregon, USA
Who was the work made for?
–On spec … put on the market for sale.
How does the work relate to other art of the time?
–Similar in style of patterning to other works I was doing at the time.
Does the work relate to the social or political history of the time?
    –Doesn’t relate.
Can you link it to other arts of the period, such as film, music or literature?
    –No
Does the work relate to other areas of knowledge, such as science or geography?
    –No
What is it? What is it about? What is happening?
    –What do YOU think?
Is it a portrait? A landscape? Abstract?
    –What do YOU think?
How does the work make you feel?
–How does it make YOU feel?

I think that the reason that you were asked to answer these questions is to have YOU think about the artwork, not hound the artist to tell you what you should think.

    Good luck with your assignment.
    Carolee
