“Just Another Guy”
by Carolee Clark
10″ x 10″
acrylic on wrapped canvas
Okay, a red dot means sold. A blue dot? Well, in some galleries it means that someone has put a hold on it, or expressed interest. In my blog, however, it means that it is no longer available. I paint over my images on canvas all the time. Perfectly nice paintings, that I don’t want to inventory. I have about thirty 10″ x 10″ canvases, so that means if I paint one of those each day, I will have a month to enjoy them, sell them or paint over them.
I painted this figure a couple of days ago, but didn’t want to post it yet so I did a quick ink sketch to post instead. Now it is already covered up with an entirely new painting. C’est la vie.

“Just Wondering”

Why is it that some days, one struggles with painting something they like, and other days it just flows? This painting was a pleasure to paint. I quickly came upon the idea from a sketch in my figure studies and the painting didn’t go through it’s usual “ugly” stage.

Isn’t it wonderful to have someone with whom you want to grow old, given all of their idiosyncrasies and they knowing all of yours?

“Fields of Latham & Companion Piece”
by Caradon
acrylic on wrapped canvas 3′ x 8′
These paintings are in the new medical clinic next to Riverbend Hospital, in Springfield, Oregon. They look tiny here but the two together are eight feet long and three feet in height. The clinic has five floors, and each follows a chinese medicine theme. They are on the fire floor (4th). The clinic is new, open for business, and already boasts an impressive art collection.

This is my
Different Strokes challenge painting. It took me half a dozen sketches to decide a composition and idea that I was happy with for this painting. Then it took me a lot longer to complete than I had hoped, but I am happy with the result.
